AHRQ Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality

ARRA American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (2009)
Commonly referred to, as the Stimulus or Recovery Act, is an economic stimulus package enacted by the 111th United States Congress in February 2009. It provides major investment dollars for the implementation of electronic health records.
CCHIT Certification Commission for Health Information Technology
A non-profit organization with the public mission of accelerating the adoption of heath IT. CCHIT offers authorized certification of electronic health record technology.

HIPAA Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (1996)

HISPC Health Information Security and Privacy Collaboration

HIT Health Information Technology?
The umbrella term used to describe initiatives at the federal and state level and within the private sector to link electronically health information that is currently scattered and isolated among many different stakeholders.
HITECH Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health
The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, enacted as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, was signed into law on February 17, 2009. It provides financial incentives to medical practices to help them adopt EHR systems.

PECOS Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System
